Dear Fellow Comal County Citizens,
I am proud to announce my campaign for re-election as your Comal County Criminal District Attorney, and I respectfully ask for your support in the March 2026 Republican Primary. With the help of a talented team of attorneys, investigators, and support staff, we have accomplished tremendous work on your behalf. After nearly twenty-two years as a prosecutor—and now entering my sixteenth year as your elected District Attorney—I remain as committed as ever to protecting our community.
Since joining the DA’s Office in 2004, I have served in many roles, including Chief Civil Prosecutor, before being elected as your Criminal District Attorney in 2011. From the start, I have worked with judges, probation departments, and school officials to reduce truancy, curb drugs and violence in our schools, and promote accountability.
Over the course of my four terms, I have listened to and learned from many of you in Comal County. Again and again, you’ve told me your priorities: protecting children, keeping our roads safe, and ensuring the safety of our community. These priorities have guided every decision I’ve made.
Protecting Our Children
The safety of our most vulnerable citizens will always come first. I have prioritized the prosecution of child abusers and child molesters, pursued tough sentences, defended convictions on appeal, and personally fought against parole releases. I have also worked with schools to educate students about drunk driving, drugs, online safety, and criminal activity—empowering them with knowledge to make good decisions.
Keeping Our Roads Safe
Drunk driving devastates families. In 2011, I partnered with law enforcement to make Comal County a “No Refusal” county during high-risk times. Within months, the program reduced alcohol-related offenses and encouraged drivers to seek safer alternatives. That same year, we became a year-round “No Refusal” county—a model that has since been adopted across the state of Texas. I remain steadfast in securing convictions for DWI offenses and pursuing stiff penalties for repeat offenders. Fifteen years ago, I pledged to make Comal County a permanent ‘No Refusal’ county. That promise has never wavered, and it will continue in my next term.
Building a Safer Community
Through gatherings like block parties and National Night Out, I’ve worked to encourage community vigilance and the value of neighbors watching out for neighbors. At the same time, my office has worked aggressively with local, state, and federal agencies to put drug dealers and gang members behind bars. Operations like Operation Crystal Lake removed 39 dealers and more than 11 pounds of crystal meth from our streets. The creation of the G.O.N.E. (Gang Offender and Narcotics Enforcement) Unit, along with the New Braunfels Police Department’s Safe Streets Unit, has brought accountability to those who once operated in the shadows. During the 89th Legislative Session, I testified multiple times on bail reform to stop the revolving door of violent offenders, ensuring our community is safer. Through my leadership, Comal County also secured state grant funding to establish a Domestic Violence High Risk Team—one of only three counties in Texas chosen. Our efforts are saving lives and serving as a model for the entire state.
Looking Ahead
If re-elected, I pledge to continue leading my office with integrity, efficiency, and an unwavering commitment to safety for our children, our roads, and our community. Beyond my official duties, I proudly serve on numerous boards and organizations dedicated to justice, child advocacy, and community leadership.
I was raised in Comal County, and my family has been part of this community for more than sixty years. My husband, Dan, and I are raising our two sons here because we want them to grow up with the same freedoms and safety we enjoyed. Serving as your District Attorney has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I humbly ask for your vote in the March 2026 Republican Primary.
Thank you for your trust and support.
